Ever wondered how to setup a firewall?

Today we are going to learn the basic configuration of fortinet firewall.

Please follow the steps below: Fortinet Quick setup

  1. Login with a default IP address which is 192.168.99
  2. Type the username: Admin and Password: no password by default.
  3. Change the default username and password.
  4. Re-login with new username and password.
  5. Setup IP Address for LAN.
  6. LAN ports setup.
  7. Changing the device IP address to 192.168.10.1/24
  8. Defining the IP range for DHCP clients.
  9. Change the DNS address to DHCP clients.
  10. Reconnect with the new IP and log in.
  11. Next, we are configuring the WAN interface.
  12. Select manual/DHCP/PPPoE/enter details accordingly.
  13. Select the respective if you want to enable access through WAN ports.
  14. Firewall policy setup for LAN-WAN.
  15. select the security filter to enable BDL protection for LAN-WAN access.
